Clay Felker
Clay Felker
was the founder of New York Magazine and has been a reporter for Life Magazine. He received the National Magazine Award for “Best Magazine,” while editor of New York Magazine. He was on the development staff of Sports Illustrated. He has served as the head of the NY Magazine Company, during which he bought Village Voice and was editor-in-chief. Felker also started New West Magazine. He has also been editor of Esquire, Manhattan Inc., and Ad Week. He is currently the director of the Felker Magazine Center, at the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism. Felker received his Bachelor’s degree and an honorary doctorate degree from Duke University.
