Paul Andrews is a technology columnist for the Seattle Times and author of “The Paul Wall Weblog.” His weekly column on business and technology, appears in the Monday business section of the paper. He also writes for US News & World Report, The New York Times and other publications. He began writing about technology in 1981, after purchasing one of the first Osborne I computers to enter the state of Washington. By 1989 he was covering high tech full-time. He co-authored along with Stephen Manes, ”GATES—How Microsoft’s Mogul Reinvented an Industry and Made Himself the Richest Man in America,” (Doubleday, 1993; Touchstone, 1994). In 1999 Andrews’ book “How the Web Was Won,” about Microsoft’s first “epiphany” on the Internet, was published by Broadway Books. The paperback version came out in August, 2000.
