Ronald Campbell has worked as a staff writer for 17 years at The Orange County Register in Santa Ana, CA. He is a member of the Register’s Investigative Team. Previously, he worked as a reporter for The Bakersfield Californian and The Fairfield (CA) Daily Republic. He won the Gerald Loeb Award in 2001 for his “Body Brokers” investigation as well as two National Headliners Awards. He also serves as an adjunct teacher at the University of Southern California Annenberg School for Communication. Ron graduated from Santa Clara University with a Bachelor of Arts in History.

Stephanie Chavez has been a reporter and editor at the Los Angeles Times since 1984. Recently, she served as metro assignment editor and deputy city editor. She has covered education as well as breaking news. Stephanie was part of three metro reporting teams for that won Pulitzer Prizes for coverage on the Los Angeles riots, the Northridge earthquake and a North Hollywood shooting. She won a Sigma Delta Chi award for Deadline News Reporting during the Los Angeles riots. Stephanie attended the University of Southern California’s School of Journalism.

Sydney Freedberg is a staff writer at the St. Petersburg (FL) Times. She covers Florida’s tax structure and philanthropy. Previously, she worked at the Miami Herald, The Wall Street Journal, The Detroit News and The Staten Island Advance. She won a Pulitzer Prize in 1999 for team coverage of pervasive voter fraud in Miami’s mayoral election. Sydney also won a Pulitzer Prize for Meritorious Service in 1982 for co-authoring “Peacetime Deaths at Sea,” a series that exposed the Navy’s cover-up surrounding the deaths of seamen. She regularly wins state and regional awards and has served as a Pulitzer juror in investigative reporting, including serving as a committee chair. She was a Knight Fellow at Stanford University in 1991. Sydney graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in history and literature at Harvard University.
