April 3 - April 6, 2001
University of California, Berkeley/Graduate School of Journalism
"Making the Transition: New Media Skills" addressed the issues of finding and evaluating information online; publishing online; finding experts and sources; digital publishing; multimedia reporting; and production and the future of new media. Exploring these topics and teaching critical skills made this cutting-edge seminar a success. As an added bonus, fellows were invited to attend the annual, University of Southern California - University of California, Berkeley New Media Conference held on April 7.
What fellows have to say about past seminars:
"I am so grateful you were open-minded enough to accept a photographer, not
succumbing to the stereotypes that we can't write anything beyond our names.
That you chose to respect my abilities will help me carry this rich
information to the right editors in the newsroom. The variety of speakers
was so incredible. Thank you!"
