February 11 - February 16, 2001
University of California, Berkeley/Graduate School of Journalism
The focus of this seminar was on the use and abuse of the planet's fisheries. Environmental writers and business reporters, editors, columnists and editorial writers joined representatives of the commercial and sports fishing industries to discuss the environmental, social, and economic issues surrounding the management of our marine resources. Outings to the Bodega Marine Laboratory and San Francisco's Fisherman's Wharf were incorporated to enhance journalists' understanding of the issues under discussion.
What fellows have to say about past seminars:
"A great source of info, dialogue, debate - and resources for future stories. Experts were all at highest levels. Great group of fellows, too. "
